General Chinese Language Programs----2021 Spring Semester Ongoing
In this blooming season, International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) has welcomed nearly 300 international students from over 58 countries with great passion in our leading General Chinese Language Program.
This semester, some students are able to enjoy classroom learning on Donghua campus, while others are still studying Chinese online in their home countries. Wherever you are and in whatever form of learning, ICES strives to provide you with rich learning resources and best supports.
In the coming 2021 fall semester, ICES will continue to offer the Chinese language programs in the classroom as well as online. We are looking forward to meet you in the class!
2021 Fall Semester
1. Program Information
Schedule： 6 September 2021 - 7 January 2022(18 weeks)
Every Monday to Friday(Total class hours: 320 hours)
2. Course Plan
Classroom Learning： Beijing time 9:00-12:15
Online Learning: 3 hours per day (2 hour live classes and 1-hour self-study on recorded learning materials.) Class time will be arranged before instruction starts based on the students' situation and teaching plan.
3. Different Levels
Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced. (Minimum class size is 8 students.)
Students have to take a placement test to evaluate their Chinese proficiency, and they will be divided into different levels based on the test result. Placement test information will be emaild before semester starts. In the 1st week, students are allowed to change the course level within a specific timeframe.
4.Learning Materials
Self-compiled textbooks and "Chinese in Real Life" will be applied for both classroom and online courses. Meanwhile, ICES will provide various Chinese learning materials, including keywords, language points, recorded videos, dialogue videos, audios, course summary, and etc. Learning material, as well as the assignments, will be uploaded to the learning management platform. Students both in online and offline courses can review the courses at any time.
5. Fee
Tuition: CNY 10200 (covers textbook fee)
1. Visa
Classroom: Documents for student visa and Residence Permit (Study) application will be provided.
Online：Documents for student visa and Residence Permit (Study) application will NOT be provided.
2. Dormitory
Classroom: Students can apply for campus accommodation based on the capacity. If the reservation is confirmed, please check-in during the designated time as required.
Online: The university will NOT offer accommodation services or documents.
Refund
3. Application fee：Non-refundable;
Tuition: Full refund: study terminated before instruction starts. 50% refund: study terminated in the 1st week of study. NO refund will be accepted the 2nd week of study.
Attention！
Because of COVID-19 Outbreak, students will be allowed to enter the campus only if they follow epidemic control policies and regulations of Shanghai Municipal Government and Donghua University.

Classroom: 6 July 2021Online: 18 August 2021
* New applicants recommended by international students studied in Donghua before will enjoy application fee waiver. Full name of referrer is needed.
* Students who continue the study will enjoy application fee waiver and tuition deductions.
Your application will be officially evaluated. If you are admitted, you will receive a notification email with the relevant information on the online placement test and enrollment affairs of the new semester.
Please ensure to complete the online placement test on time. Student studying in classroom is also required to submit documents for entering the campus on time.
