College of International Students at Southeast university organized activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Vice dean Xu gave out moon cakes to students to share the blessings, and took photos with students. Teachers from College of International Students hope that everyone can have a new feeling of this warm festival in China on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, enjoy the moon, eat moon cakes, and stay safe.

Students also shared their understanding of Mid-Autumn Festival and send wishes to all.

The Mid-autumn Festival (or Zhong Qiu Jie in Mandarin), also known as the Mooncake Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It is called the Mid-autumn Festival because the 15th day is the middle of a month, and the eighth lunar month is in the middle of autumn.

The common customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival include family members eating dinner together, just like a Thanksgiving dinner, sharing mooncakes, worshiping the moon with gifts, displaying lanterns, and regional activities.

Some interesting stories about Mid-Autumn Festival is the Chang'e and Hou Yi — Love Story of a Beautiful Lady and a Hero.

Happy Mooncake Festival to my Chinese people!

Kalim

Mid-autumn festival is the 2nd most important holiday after Chinese New Year. The reason of calling it “Mid-autumn festival” is because it was held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunar calendar with a full moon at night with family and friends.

The common customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival include family reunion, eating dinner together, sharing mooncakes, worshiping the moon with gifts, displaying lanterns, and other regional activities.

I’ve heard the story of Chang E and it’s the most widely accepted story regarding the moon and the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is said that in ancient times, ten suns existed and the extreme heat made people's lives very difficult. It was the hero Hou Yi, who, owing to his great strength, shot down nine of the ten suns.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! May the round moon bring you a happy family and a successful future.

Mid-autumn Festival is the middle of a month(the 15th day), and the eighth lunar month is in the middle of autumn. Mid-Autumn celebrations usually last for three days in China.

The full moon symbolizes unity, which should resonate strongly in today's fast-paced world. The most common traditions are family reunions, eating mooncakes, gazing at the moon, light and hang up lanterns. Besides, ethnic minorities across China have their own unique customs as Enjoy Fiery Dragon Dances.

I have passed my last Mid-Autumn festival with my Chinese friends at Zhengzhou university, we have gathered, sang songs, ate moon cake and enjoy the chat and beautiful environment under the light of full moon.

Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month.

One of the most common ways to celebrate is by eating moon cakes. Chinese people get together with their families and eat mooncakes. I know the stories about Mid-Autumn Festival are Lady Chang’e, the Rabbit on the Moon and Love story of Chang’E and Hou Yi.

I wish that everyone will have happiness in their lives, success at work, true love, happy family and caring friends.

In the view of ancient Chinese people, autumn spans from July to September in a year. Mid-Autumn Festival is on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, which is exactly the middle of autumn. That’s why it is called Mid-Autumn Festival.

Mid-Autumn Festival is time for family reunion. We would enjoy our reunion dinner and share mooncakes to celebrate the holiday.

One of the most interesting stories widely known in China is actually quite romantic. The name of the story is Lady Chang’e flying to the moon (嫦娥奔月).

(1) Wish you and your family a happy Mid-Autumn Festival (祝您和您的家人中秋节快乐);

(2) Wishing us a long life to share the graceful moonlight, though thousands of miles apart.(但愿人长久,千里共婵娟)

When the moon is round in autumn, it is a signal that it is the time to reunite, enjoy the festivities and happy times with loved ones.

May each and every day of your life is as happy and as bright as the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. Best wishes on this special occasion. Happy Mid-Autumn Moon Festival!
