Four corners of the globe, harmony and shared existence!
One-stop registration for 23 countries! The 4th International Student Cultural Festival at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) has been successfully concluded.
As the sunken plaza glowed with the colors of 23 nations, and laughter in different languages merged into a single melody, this "international cultural feast" brought to life by SUIBE ignited the autumn campus with energy and excitement!
With the sunken plaza bathed in the vibrant hues of 23 countries, and the mingling of diverse tongues forming a harmonious tune, this SUIBE-hosted event showcased Vietnam’s conical hats, Cambodia’s Khmer traditional attire, Thailand’s handicrafts, Tajikistan’s pilaf, and much more. The international students, serving as “cultural ambassadors,” used fluent Chinese along with illustrated displays to vividly share the history and unique customs of their homelands.
The artistic performances were particularly exhilarating. Vietnamese students blended traditional dance with modern pop, creating a dynamic fusion performance. The swirl of their skirts radiated the charm of the East. Korean students performed the bilingual song “Love You” in Chinese and Korean, their upbeat rhythm moving the audience to sway along. Students from the Democratic Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) presented a karate demonstration—each punch and kick executed with precision, drawing wave after wave of applause. Notably, the entire performance troupe was made up of both Chinese and international students, who presented acts in Chinese and English. Their witty interactions kept the audience engaged and laughing throughout.
As a key initiative in advancing the internationalization of education at SUIBE, the International Student Cultural Festival not only celebrates the university’s 65th anniversary but also serves as a vital platform for fostering Sino-foreign cultural exchange and mutual understanding. We look forward to all students—Chinese and international—using culture as a bridge and friendship as a bond to inspire wisdom and achieve shared growth through communication.
