Needing Putonghua (Mandarin Chinese) to live and work in China?  
Sunrise Language program has trained over 400 foreign professionals in Mandarin Chinese since 1996. Shaanxi Teacher’s University (ShiDa) is a full-time, non-credit language training designed for and by Western Professionals wishing to use their career skills in China.
What do we offer in this program?
A 2-year curriculum emphasizing speaking-listening skills

Who can enroll?  
The program is open to students who are age 20 and older, who are coming to work in China, and who can commit to at least two years of full-time study.
The program is not open to Japanese or Korean students who read characters – ShiDa has a separate program for such students.

What about housing?
The university does not arrange off-campus housing for students. However, there is a University hotel that you can live in or stay there until you find other suitable housing. If you stay in a hotel for the semester or longer, shared rooms are 33 CNY per bed per night in a standard twin-bed room. If you stay less than a semester, it is 80-100 CNY per night per room for students.
Off-campus housing is now fairly abundant in the vicinity of the campus. Unfurnished rental apartments of about 100 square meters generally run about CNY 1,200-1500 (US$200) per month. There is now a considerable range of price and size options. Furnished or partially furnished apartments can also be found.
All off-campus housing arrangements must be reported to and registered at the local Chang Yan Bu Police Station situated north of the Metro supermarket.
