School of Information Management and Engineering


As one of the earliest founded departments of Information Management among the universities in China, The School of Information Management and Engineering originated from Economics & Management Department which was founded in 1982 and was reestablished as The School of Information Management and Engineering on May 17th ,2005.

The school consists of the Department Of Information Management And Information System, E-Commerce Department, Computer Science Department, Management Science Department, ERP Experiment Center, E-commerce Laboratory, Modern Information Technology Laboratory and Computer Network Laboratory.

The school also established two overseas research centers which are Management Innovation Britain Center ( Reading University, Britain), Management Innovation Canadian Center(University of Toronto, Canada), Decision Management and Consultation Institution, E-commerce and E-governance Institution.

Currently, the school owns one doctoral programme in Management Science and Engineering. Besides, there are two masters’ programmes including Management Science and Engineering and E-commerce and three undergraduates’ programmes including Information Management and Information System, E-commerce, Computer Science and Technology.

There are 41 full-time faculties in the school and 73.2% of them are professors, associate professor or have gained Ph.D degree. Almost 900 students are studying at this school.

 

Dean: Qin Zheng, Professor/ Doctorate Supervisor

Professor Zheng Qin; Dean of the Information Management and Engineering School, Doctoral Supervisor, and Senior Visiting Scholar at Sydney University and the University of Florida; has won the Citigroup Financial Education Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award (2005), the Bao Steel Excellent Teacher Award (2006), the Shanghai Incubation Award (2007), and the SW Teaching Award (2009), as well as many provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards. He is also a member of the editorial boards of many academic journals. His main research areas are modern management, e-commerce and information-systems management. Professor Qin once chaired the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the provincial Natural Science Foundation. Furthermore, he has published more than 180 articles and 9 books, and he has 2 national patents.
