Health care in Beijing is expensive and hospitals won't start treating individuals until the expected fees be prepaid. For this reason, international students are required to have health insurance coverage provided by local insurance company while being a student at Beijing Institute of Technology. BIT has chosen an insurance policy that we feel best serves the needs of our international students at a very competitive cost. This insurance policy is the Comprehensive Insurance Plan of Foreign Students sponsored by Ping-An of China. All international students are automatically enrolled in this insurance plan. The insurance fee will be paid at registration.

This Comprehensive Insurance Plan includes Accidental Injury Medical Treatment Insurance and Hospitalization Medical Insurance, not covering out-patient treatment expenses of common disease.
