General
  • Public university: Run by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, P. R. China.
  • History: Founded in 1935 as Guilin Senior Nurse Midwifery School.
  • 3 Campuses: Lequn, Dongcheng, and Lingui campuses covering 889517.78 ㎡.
  • 22 Departments: College of Clinical Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of International Education, etc.
  • GMU is founded upon the Guilin Advanced Midwifery Nursing School established in 1935.



Teaching Highlights

  • 2007: Approved “Excellence” in the teaching evaluation sponsored by Ministry of education(MOE).
  • 2012: Passed the Authentication of Clinical Medicine sponsored by MOE.
  • 2014: Won the 1st place in the Fifth National Competition of Clinical Medicine Skills for Students of Medical Colleges in the South China Region.
  • 2008-2012: Exceeded the average score in the country for the MLE (Medical License Examination).



In 2012, the university passed the Authentication of Clinical Medicine sponsored by MOE and became one of the few members of the medical university to receive the authentication.


In 2014, student participants achieved the grand prize in the Fifth National Competition of Clinical Medicine Skills of the Medical College (South China Region).

  • Honours: Top ten hospitals in Guangxi, Network Hospital of International Emergency Relief Center and International SOS Emergency Center designated by the Ministry of Health, National Clinical Base for Drug Test, and etc.
  • Inpatient Beds and Inpatients: 1,361 inpatient beds, 1.25 million outpatients and over 63,000 inpatients, over 18,000 operations each year.


International Education, Foreign Exchange and Cooperation
  • Qualification: Achieved the qualification of enrollment for international students in 1993 from MOE.
  • International Students: Currently, students from Canada, Vietnam, Nepal, Pakistan, India, and Indonesia are studying at GMU.
