English department is founded in 1964, aiming to cultivate students with solid English language foundation and extensive scientific culture knowledge. The main focus of the English department is to develop translating, researching, teaching and management skills, which enable the graduates work in departments like foreign affairs, culture, publishing, education, scientific research and tourism as English professionals.
The main focus of English department is to develop undergraduate education. Also admit the postgraduates major in foreign linguistics and applied linguistics, English language and literature.
Currently there are 36 in-service teachers, including 10 professors (2 doctoral supervisors), retain 6-8 foreign teachers, also there are 17 teachers hold the doctorate diploma. About 90% teachers with master’s degree diploma have the study abroad experiences.
