Program Description

This major educates students to develop the necessary knowledge and ability needed in water conservancy, water resources, water ecosystem, water environment, water disasters, water management, and water economics etc. Upon graduating, students will be doing scientific research, planning and designing, construction and management in fields such as dam structure, the utilization of underground space, city water conservancy, city water affairs, coastal and port engineering, the informationization of hydro engineering, etc.
Main courses include Mathematics, Physics, General Chemistry, Fundamentals of Computer, Elasticity, Engineering Mechanics, Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete, Hydraulics Structure, Construction Technology, Urban Water Environment, The Earth and Human Being's Environment, Engineering Economics, Offshore Structures, and Steel Structure etc.
Application Schedule
On-line application: March 1 – March16, 2012.

Hardcopies of application materials due: March 19 - March 30, 2012.

Entrance Examination
(1) Subjects of Written Examination for Science, Engineering and Management Programs: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

(2) Subjects of Written Examination for Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Programs: Basic Chinese Language, Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, and English.

(3) Subjects of Written Examination for Arts and Design Programs: Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, Sketch, Quick Sketch, and Color Painting.

Extra exams are requested for some programs: Sketch for Architecture Program, Oral Test for English and Japanese Programs, and Mathematics for Experimental Class of Social Sciences and Psychology.

Interview may also be requested by some department/schools.
Date of Entrance Examination
Written Examination: May 12 - 13, 2012

The applicants to be interviewed will be notified after written exams.

Entry Requirements

1. Foreign citizens under 25 and in good health
2. Graduation from senior high school;
3. HSK Band 6 / new HSK Band 5 or aboveHydraulic and Hydropower Engineering.

Application Materials

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Academic transcript of high school

5.  HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)
Level 3 or above

6.  Two recommendation letters
From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

7. A notarization of guarantor in China
Only for applicants under 18 years old.
