The department of Journalism and Communication's key directions of development are in media theories and practice, international broadcasting, film-television dissemination, new media journalism and network media management. This major educates students to become highly skilled in the journalism and communication field through both theory and practice. After graduation, students can undertake positions of management,  planning, editing and production  in press and publications, television broadcasting, internet disseminator, advertising of public relations, etc.
Main courses include Principle of Journalism Studies, The History of Chinese Journalism and Communications, History of Foreign Journalism, Theory of Communications,  Editorial Writing,  Newspaper Editing,  Radio and Television News, Introduction to New Media, Film & TV Art, Business Administration of Media Firms, Media Law, Media Criticism, and News Photography etc.

On-line application: March 1 – March16, 2012.

Hardcopies of application materials due: March 19 - March 30, 2012.

Entrance Examination
(1) Subjects of Written Examination for Science, Engineering and Management Programs: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

(2) Subjects of Written Examination for Law, Humanities and Social Sciences Programs: Basic Chinese Language, Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, and English.

(3) Subjects of Written Examination for Arts and Design Programs: Chinese Writing, General Knowledge, Sketch, Quick Sketch, and Color Painting.

Extra exams are requested for some programs: Sketch for Architecture Program, Oral Test for English and Japanese Programs, and Mathematics for Experimental Class of Social Sciences and Psychology.

Interview may also be requested by some department/schools.
Date of Entrance Examination
Written Examination: May 12 - 13, 2012

The applicants to be interviewed will be notified after written exams.

2. Graduation from senior high school;
3. HSK Band 6 / new HSK Band 5 or above.
1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Academic transcript of high school

5.  HSK Certificate (No need for English-taught program)
Level 3 or above

6.  Two recommendation letters
From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

7.  A notarization of guarantor in China
Only for applicants under 18 years old.
