Program Description

The master program of Laws (LL.M.) in Civil and Business Law for international students is the sole program in Zhejiang Province; and is also one of the only two international programs in Chinese civil and business law in East China, the most robust economy in China. This program is designed to orientate international students with the evolving Chinese law, and particularly civil and business law. The program is designed to foster our students in well-rounded knowledge, skills and broadened perspective which the legal world needs. Through a diverse range of theoretical and practical courses and research, we deliver an educational experience which enables international students to meet their future career ambitions.

Program Objective
Through this program, the students are expected to acquire as follows:
■ A better understanding of Chinese legal system; Comprehensive knowledge in basic legal theories
■ A good master of Chinese civil and business laws and civil procedures law
■ Systematic knowledge in legal mechanisms available for resolving civil and business disputes in China
■ Basic legal skills needed to practice law under Chinese legal systems
■ A better foundation of Chinese language skills, especially in legal writing and communication
The program consists of the main courses, including Jurisprudence, Chinese Judicial System and Legal ethics, Contract Law, Business Law, Insurance Law, Intellectual Property Law, Securities Regulations, Civil Procedure Law, Mediation and Arbitration, Legal Chinese and Legal Writing. Students are also required to participate in an internship with a law firm or organization or corporate department and write a thesis upon completion of all coursework.

Credits and Certification
Thirty-six credits are required, including 6 credits for dissertation. Certificates of graduation and Master Degree of Laws (LL.M.) in Civil and Business Law will be granted by Zhejiang Gongshang University to any student who is qualified in dissertation oral defense and pass through verification by the University.

Entry Requirements

1.Applicants must be aged from 18 to 40 years old and in good physical condition;

2.Applicants should have undergraduate degree diploma;

3.TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 for non-native English speakers;

4.Applicants should have good knowledge of English and Mathematics.

3.Master's degree diploma

Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

Including study purpose, research interest and research plan in brief.
