1. ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (SPST)

The School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST) was founded in July, 2000 and is led by Professor Jay S. Siegel, an internationally renowned expert in molecular design and drug innovation, and the former dean in charge of teaching/education of Faculty of Science at University of Zurich. As the first pilot of “Network of International Centers for Education in China” program, SPST has been characterized by an intellectually rigorous environment, dynamic culture, and unique opportunities for research and study. Currently SPST has 30 full-time international faculty from the United States, Germany, Austria, Singapore, New Zealand and another 11 countries.

 

2. COURSE OBJECTIVE

We are aiming at training the talents with broad international vision and strong ability of international communication, good moral and humanistic literacy, and with solid theoretical foundation and professional knowledge in the pharmaceutical field. The graduates are qualified with the capability of teaching and scientific research, academic exchanges and self-learning in related Pharmacy field.

4.  CURRICULUM

Student must complete a total of no less than 27.5 credit points

1)General Degree Courses (10):

 

2)Major-related Courses: (choose one research direction, 10 credit in all, Pharmaceutical Analysis students choose 7.5 credit here)



3)Advanced Research Topics and Academic Ethics: organized by graduate school, 1 credit;

4)Academic ExchangeStudents need to give at least 3 times academic reports (oral presentations) and at least 1 time academic communication (make presentations on international symposium), 1 credit

5)Experimental Skills/Social Practice : 1 credit

6)Optional Courses4.5 credit in all (Pharmaceutical Analysis students choose 7 credit here).






 

1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;

2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

Be a Bachelor degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the Master’s programs.

1. Notarized certificate of the highest diploma. If applicants are university students, they must provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date, the original certificate should be provided after admission. If applicants are employed, a proof of employment is to be submitted with the application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English, the original and a copy must be submitted;

2. Notarized copy of the academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English;

3. A study or research plan not less than 800 words written in English or Chinese. All applicants must submit a study or research plan for the study period in China; 

4. Two recommendation letters: Applicants need to submit two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors or associate professors; 

5. Applicants for art studies are requested to submit two sketches of the applicants’ own works;

6. Photocopy of passport;

7. HSK certificate, a minimum requirement of HSK 4 (Score 180 or above) for applying science and engineering or HSK5 (Score 180 or above) for applying liberal arts; If the applicant’s Chinese proficiency has not yet met the requirement of admission, he/she can study Chinese Language at Tianjin university for one year and obtain the required certificate of HSK; Applicants who want to join in the programs taught in English must submit the certificate of TOEFL (Score 80 or above) or IELTS (Score 6.0 or above) (Not required for native English speakers);Applicants who don’t have one should submit an English Level Certificate or a self-introduction video which should be recorded in English for 3-5 minutes in duration.

8. Applicants who are not in China at present must submit Certificate of Non-Criminal Records.

9. Applicants who are now studying in China must submit Photocopy of Visa and Transfer Certificate from your present school in China.
