Taizhou University is located in Taizhou City of Zhejiang Province. Situated along China’s gold coast line and being a developed coastal city in the Yangtze River Delta economic circle, Taizhou is the birthplace of China’s private economy. Known as a “city of mountain and water”, “peaceful and holy land” and “capital of manufacturing”, Taizhou has been awarded as a national city of well-being for five times and a number of other honors such as a national advanced city for scientific and technological development.

As a comprehensive university officially approved by the Ministry of Education of China, the history of Taizhou University could be traced back to 1907. Having three campuses in the two places of Jiaojiang and Linhai, the university occupies a land area of more than 1, 100,000㎡. With 14 schools, the university offers 52 bachelor’s degree programs. The university has over 1150 full-time members on the teaching staff, among whom more than 500 are professors or associate professors and more than 490 have the PhD degree. There are more than 15, 000 full-time undergraduate students on the campus. With the resourced and rigorous academic staff, Taizhou University ranks the 9th among the top 10 Chinese application -oriented universities in 2020, the 144^th among Chinese mainland universities(the 10^th among provincial universities) in the natural index ranking and among the top 300 national universities in the Chinese Universities Alumni Association(CUAA)ranking. Currently there are 2 national characteristic programs and 4 provincial first-class disciplines. Chemical discipline and engineering discipline rank approximately among the top 1% of ESI global ranking.

The university insists operating in an open and international way. Now a good cooperative relationship has been established with more than 50 universities in countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Korea, New Zealand, and all-directional, multi-layered and wide-ranging cooperation has been launched. The university rigorously encourages international students to apply for Zhejiang provincial government scholarship and Taizhou University international students scholarship. There are nearly 400 students from over 30 countries such as Uzbekistan, Russia, Korea, the United States, Germany, Morocco and Mexico who have come to study Chinese language and bachelor’s degree programs including international economics and trade, tourism management and computer science and technology in Taizhou university.
