Why study in SJZU



SJZU has been enrolling international students since 1956, and each year received about 200 foreign students who come from diversity of countries as Korea, Germany, Russia, Pakistan, USA, UK, Romania, Brazil, Netherland, DPRK, India, Mongolia, Philippine, etc. SJZU has set up friendly relationship with more than 60 universities in more than 40 countries around the world. In this way, SJZU has strengthened its connection with the foreign universities globally. In 2012, a Confucius Institute mutually founded by Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania and SJZU was inaugurated. In the same year, SJZU was awarded by the Ministry of Education of China with Chinese Government Scholarship Program.



In the past five years, SJZU obtained 2255 scientific and technological research projects and a total of 554 million Yuan grants and funds for the research work. Many of the above research projects have won national or provincial awards, including 4 nation-level “Scientific and Technological Progress/Invention Awards”. Since 2004, SJZU students have got over 100 patterns annually, which topped the list of universities in Liaoning Province. In 2005 and 2008, SJZU was twice awarded the national “Outstanding Research Institution of Higher Education”. SJZU library has a rich collection of 1.22 million books.Journal of Shenyang Jianzhu University (Natural Science) is awarded by the Ministry of Education the First Prize of Excellent Scientific and Technical Journals in China.



With its 17 subordinate schools, SJZU has 1400 professional faculty members, including nearly 400 professors and associate professors. SJZU's current enrollment consists of 16,000 undergraduates, postgraduates as well as international students. In the past 10 years, SJZU’s graduate employment rate has always topped the rank of all the universities in Liaoning province. Such majors as Civil engineering, Architecture and Mechanical Engineering in SJZU are evaluated as key subjects by Liaoning Province, and Material Science and Engineering is classed as the key subject with special advantage in Liaoning Province. SJZU also boasts with 11 province-level major subjects, 16 province-level key laboratories and 6 province-level engineering and technological research centers.
