I. Introduction


Foundation 

The College of Aerospace Engineering was founded in November, 2003, set up by the merging of the Department of Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering and the Department of Engineering Mechanics, its predecessor, the Department of Aeronautical Engineering formed in 1978, currently there are 3 Undergraduate Majors in the college, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering, Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering(Specialization in Sheet Metal and Mold), Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering(Specialization in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering), Aircraft Design and Engineering, Engineering Mechanics (2 areas of specialization and 1 international cooperation program class). 


Degree Programs

From 2004 the Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering and Aircraft Design and Engineering have realized Liaoning Province "1st grade B section" recruitment of students, clearly showing distinct quality enhancement. Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering is a national defense science and industry committee specialty and a featured major of Liaoning Province to train highly required, but scarce aerospace personnel. The College of Aerospace Engineering has a first-level Aerospace Science master's degree and three second-level master's degree programs (Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering, Aircraft Design and Engineering Mechanics), it also has engineering master's degree program in Aeronautical Engineering. 


Faculties

The college of Aerospace Engineering currently has 61 teaching and administrative staffs, of which 8 are professors, 28 are associate professors and 15 have a doctorate degree. There are 1120 undergraduate students, 47 engineering graduate students and 200 students studying a minor at the college. In recent 5 years the collage has undertaken the National Natural Sciences Fund, Aeronautical Science Fund, Liaoning Province Science Fund, the National Defense Advanced Research topic, the National 11 priority projects, SDS unmanned aerial vehicle, some model carrier-borne aircraft and 80 other new machine development topics, research spending have amounted to 15 million Yuan. The college 22 laboratories include Aircraft Design and synthesis lab, fatigue and vibration lab, mold/die lab, forming and fabrication characteristics lab, cold stamping lab, plastic fabrication lab, SPF/DB lab, reverse-engineering lab, airplane board installation and systems lab, aircraft assembly lab, aircraft joining lab, theoretical mechanics lab, materials mechanics  lab and other laboratories and research centers, the college also has Liaoning Province key laboratories - Liaoning Province digital simulation and engineering laboratory.


II.Specialty

1.Aircraft Design and Engineering
Training of high-level engineering technology and management talents to master aerospace vehicle design related specialized knowledge, and have certain technological innovation, management and engineering practical abilities.

2.Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering

Training of high-level engineering technology and management talents to master the fields of aerospace manufacturing engineering, research and development.


(1) Sheet Metal and Mold Specialization

Training of high-level engineering technology and management talents who can engage in aeronautical, astronautical and localized industrial sheet metal forming and mold/die design and manufacturing.


(2) Aeronautical Maintenance Engineering Specialization

Training of high-level engineering technology and management talents for aeronautical and civil aviation in the field of aircraft manufacturing, maintenance and related jobs.


(3)Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering (Russian Class)
