2011 Social Cognitive Neuroscience International Symposium Held in ZSTU

2011 Social Cognitive Neuroscience International Symposium was held at the second-floor lecture hall of Administration Building of ZSTU. Present at the symposium were Academician Tang Xiaowei from Zhejiang University, ZSTU vice-President Prof. Shen Manhong, Prof. Scott Johnson from University of California, Prof. James Tanaka from University of Victoria, Canada, Prof. Kang Lee from University of Toronto and University of California, Mr. Guan Bo from Zhejiang Natural Science Foundation, Prof. Li Shu from China Academy of Sciences, Chairperson of Zhejiang Psychology Society Prof. Cao Liren, and scholars and experts from China, US, Canada, and Japan. The symposium was presided over by the dean of School of Sciences of ZSTU.

Shen Manhong delivered the welcome speech and he, on behalf of ZSTU, extended warm welcome to all the experts and wished the symposium a success. Cao Liren, on behalf of Zhejiang Psychology Society, delivered a speech and wished a successful symposium. Kang Lee, on behalf of the organizing body, extended gratitude for ZSTU holding the symposium and for Zhejiang Natural Sciences Foundation giving financial support for the symposium.
 At the opening ceremony, Scott Johnson and James Tanaka delivered their speeches entitled Infant’s Detection of Emotions in Face and Voice and Race and Face Perception respectively and introduced the latest development of cognitive neuroscience at the international level.
 It is known that the symposium will last 3 days and 10 foreign experts and 4 Chinese experts will deliver 14 lectures on cognitive neuroscience.
