Program Highlights:

Biomedical engineering major aims at cultivating senior application-oriented talents capable of knowledge updating and innovation, based on a combined educational background of biomedical and engineering science. With good humanistic accomplishments and team spirit, a good command of basic theories, knowledge and skills concerning biomedical engineering, they could be qualified for the development of medical instruments and relevant service and management, the processing and analyzing of medical signal and image in the professions relating to medical equipment and health care, and postgraduate study in this field as well.

Program Description:

The students of biomedical engineering major mainly study the basic theories and knowledge of life sciences, electronic technology, optics, computer and information sciences, medical instrument, medical signal and image processing. They should receive strict training of scientific experiments, technology research and the preliminary scientific research. They should master basic skills of the application of engineering technology in biomedical science, product development and management.
1. The graduates should master a comprehensive knowledge of natural sciences and basic knowledge of humanities, arts and social sciences.
2. The graduates should master the medical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
3. The graduates should master the basic principles and applications of electronic, optics, computer information technology, the basic theories and analytical methods of biomedical information detection and processing, and the basic principles and design methods of medical instruments.
4. The graduates should grasp the frontier academics and the development trend of biomedical engineering.
5. The graduates should grasp the industrial standards and related regulations for medical instruments.
6. The graduates should possess innovation consciousness and certain capability of scientific research, scientific and technological development, organization and management.
7. The graduates should have the ability of retrieving, reading, translating the foreign literature, as well as writing and communicating in scientific English.

Entry Requirements

1. Non-Chinese Citizens in good health, under the age of 35.

2. Having bachelor degree or above in related disciplines.

3. Non-English native speakers or applicants with IELTS 5.5. Minimum score for TOEFL (IBT) 72, TOEFL (CBT) 200, or TOEFL (PBT) 533, or a certificate of English proficiency as their working language during their university study.
