Objectives

This program leads to the degree of Master of Finance. It is designed to prepare students for international careers in finance both in academic and business fields. We emphasize a solid and broad theoretical foundation to master the mainstream research methods and international research horizons, and improve their research capability. Students in this program generally wish to prepare for careers in the financial sector, such as college and universities, investment and commercial banking, asset management, financial services or consulting, or in corporate finance positions within international companies at a managerial level.

Course Description

Microeconomics: Consumer theory; producer theory; market theory; game theory; general equilibrium; and information theory.

Econometrics: Probability theory, statistical inference, and matrix algebra and introduce the statistics and econometrics software; Simple Linear Regression Model; Multiple Linear Regression Model; Extensions to Linear Regression Model; Introduction to Asymptotic Theory; General Least Squares; Multicollinearity; Stochastic Regressors/Lagged Variables; and Limited Dependent Variable Models.

Corporate Finance: Key Concepts of Finance; Financial Markets; Portfolio Theory; Asset Pricing Models;  Market Efficiency Hypothesis; Capital Budgeting; Capital Structure; Dividend Policy; Equity Financing; Long-term Debt Financing.

 

Financial Accounting:

Financial Accounting and Accounting Standards; Conceptual Framework Underlying Financial Accounting;The Accounting Information System; Income Statement and Related Information; Accounting and the Time Value of Money; Cash and Receivables; Valuation of Inventories: A Cost Basis Approach; Inventories: Additional Valuation Issues; Acquisition and Disposition of Property, Plant and Equipment , etc.

Investment: equilibrium and no-arbitrage asset pricing theory in discrete time, and application of finance theory in investment.


1.Hold a non-Chinese passport and pass the required health check for visa holders in China .


2.Hold a recognized bachelor degree or above, or equivalent.


3.Have obtained a minimum score of 550 points or above for Old TOEFL, 80 points or above for New TOEFL, grade 6.0 or above for IELTS, or on presentation of a certificate from some other approved test of English proficiency. Native English speakers and applicants whose teaching language during undergraduate studies is English are exempt from this requirement. Other candidates whose university courses were taught in English will be considered on a case by case basis.


4.The ability to demonstrate relevant professional experience will be given individual consideration.

     A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.


3.Master's degree diploma
     Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.

     If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English

     and be notarized.
