The first meeting with your tutor is usually during Welcome Week. It will give you the opportunity to find out more about the role of your tutor and how to contact him or her. You will also have the chance to find out more about how your Division works.

Student feedback

Students can provide feedback on their views of teaching and the content of the modules they take, through participation in school-based Learning Community Fora (LCF), and by formal Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) and Student Evaluation of Modules (SEM) processes.

Learning Community Fora

Each Division has at least one Learning Community Forum (LCF) which meets at least once per semester. Its main role is to ensure that student views are included in course review procedures and that students have a channel, via a student representative, to express any concerns about their course of study, or the services provided by the university.

Student Evaluation of Teaching and Modules (SET and SEM)

Students are normally asked to complete questionnaires for the modules they attend near the end of each semester. This invites feedback about module structure and content, teaching methods, student activities and learning experiences in the class. The information on modules is fed into a regular review process of modules and degree programmes.
