Program Description

Ningxia Medical University is recognized by WHO and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.

In 2005, the university has started the specialty of Clinical Medicine taught in English for the international students. And with the authorization of the Ministry of Education for enrolling international students of Ningxia Medical University, it will further enforce its international education work and it will provide a convenient and comfortable living and study environment for our international students.

Teaching Objectives
The course aims to educate students to study basic theory and elementary knowledge in medicine, gain basic clinical skills of some common diseases diagnosis processing, have the primary treatment ability to urgent, difficult and severe symptoms, and be qualified for careers in hospitals, the medical and health units, medical science research departments as well as other organizations related medicine.

6 years (including 1-year Clinical Practice)

Internship
The 6 years including 1 to 1.5 years compulsory internship. The internship can be finished in Chinese hospitals or in hospitals of your own country.

If one decides to do internship there in china then the student will have to pay registration fees of university + Fees of the respective university / college where he intends to do.

Degree Awarded

On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by Ningxia Medical University, if they meet the degree regulations of Ningxia Medical University. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

Career
After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master's degree.

Entry Requirements

1. Aged 18 or above

2. High school graduate or above, or have passed Grade Twelve (10+2)/FSc./A Level/WAEC or equivalent.

3. At least 60% score in science subjects: Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

4. Have basic English language ability;

2. Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3. Graduation certificate of high school
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.
