The First Group of Trainees on Improving the Development and Administration of a High-level University Returned from America

In order to meet the needs of building a high-level university and promoting internationalization, President Lou Yuangong led the first group of staff members to pay a study visit to America from December 3 to 23, 2010.

In California State University at Long Beach, one of the training base, the staff members took part in a series of trainings on such themes as "American higher education system", "the organization of the schools of American universities and the duty of the directors ", "the employment, training and management of teachers in American universities", "the performance management of employees in American universities", "student affairs and social activities of American universities ", "the cultivation of leadership in universities" and "fund raising and management in American universities". During the training, the trainees visited universities of different levels and types, such as Stanford University, University of California at Berkley, University of California at Los Angeles, University of California at Long Beach, California State University at Los Angeles, University of Southern California, California Institute of Technology, New York University, Columbia University and Santo Antônio Community College. They also held talks with Professor King Alexander, president of California State University at Long Beach and Chinese overseas students, held two seminars at night, signed a cooperation agreement with California State University at Long Beach and achieved the preliminary goal in cooperating with the University of Southern California, New York University and Columbia University.

When in America, President Lou Yuangong met with representatives of Henan University American Alumni Association and informed them of the development of Henan university and the prospect of its development in the next stage. He expressed his wish that American Alumni Association and Chinese students in America devote their intelligence and strength to the construction and development of Henan University.

Reportedly, in the future the middle-level cadres of the university will be in groups sent to world famous universities for training and learning.
