College of Mathematics and Statistics

Southwest University is a major university governed by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.  It is one of the key higher education institutions supported by the “211 Project” and is located in Beibei, Chongqing.  The School of Mathematics and Statistics, developed from the Mathematics Department and now housed in the Science Building, is one of the most important teaching units in the university.

With the contributions of several generations of scholars, the School of Mathematics and Statistics has made remarkable achievements in education and training, programme development and scientific research. It now has teaching and research teams of dynamic, innovative, co-operative, and mostly young and middle-aged scholars. We believe that following the improvement in resources, the School of Mathematics and Statistics will enter a brand new phase in reaching excellent levels of teaching and research, providing quality education as well as conducting major research and scientific developments.
