School of Clinical Medicine is made up of a Research Center, a Teaching Experimental Center (including the City Emergency Center) and seven departments including first, second, third department of clinical medicine (three hospitals), Nursing, Medical Imaging Department, the Department of Epidemiology and the Department of Forensic Medicine. Eight affiliated hospitals undertaking clinical teaching and internship locate in Jiangsu Province and Shanghai. School of Clinical Medicine is mainly responsible for the teaching and skill of development of clinical medicine, general medicine, nursing and medical imaging for undergraduate students, and also has master programs, such as clinical medicine, surgery, psychiatry and mental health, pediatrics, anesthesiology, oncology, medical imaging, nuclear medicine and so on, together with PhD training programs in internal medicine, surgery, psychiatry and mental health. Among 300 existing professors, associate professors (including medicine and treatment), respiratory, digestive cardio-thoracic surgery and internal medicine are three provincial key disciplines of Medicine in the School which was evaluated as outstanding undergraduate teaching school by Ministry of Education in 2004 following strict assessment.
