Department of Basic Sciences


The Department of Basic Science was established in 1980, now there are three majors that can grant both master and doctor's degree - information management and information system, drug chemistry, and drug analysis, one major that can grant Master's degree - analytical chemistry, and two majors that can grant bachelors’ degree - information management and information system, and environmental science. And until now, there have been established seven teaching and research sections for analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, mathematics, physics and information management science and one experimental center for basic chemistry.

Now there is a staff of totally 177, including 6 professors and 37 associate professors. The teachers in the Department of Basic Science work hard and have achieved significant achievements in recent years. Nearly one hundred of various kinds of research projects and more than ten subjects at all levels of education reform have been undertaken and accomplished successfully. More than ten national level official textbooks of “tenth Five-Year Plan” and “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” have been edited and three courses are assessed to be provincial excellent courses. The teachers have won many honors for their work, among which are one level 1 and one level 2 National Awards of Education, one grand prize and two level 2 Provincial Awards of Education, and two prizes for provincial excellent textbooks, and so on.

Over the years, with the direction of the school motto of “be proficient and benefit others” and with the aim of fostering high-quality innovative pharmaceutical talents, the Department of Basic Science has been putting forth effort to promote quality education of college students, and organized a series of high-level and high-quality scientific and cultural activities on campus. The ways of daily education and management of the students are reformed and innovated with remarkable results, achieving modelization of daily education, deepenization of learning practices, and characterization of subject activities.
