School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering

The School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, formerly known as the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, was established in 1959. It covers naval architecture and ocean engineering, and marine engineering and offers undergraduate programs for these two majors. It also offers four postgraduate programs, namely Design and Construction of Naval Architecture and Ocean Structure, Marine Engineering, Underwater Acoustic Engineering and Underwater Engineering. The school boasts one post-doctoral research center for naval architecture and ocean engineering, and one key subject of Hubei Province, namely Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. The School currently has over 40 academic and teaching staff, and more than 1,000 undergraduate students and 160 postgraduate students. It has more than 10 laboratories with advanced equipment and facilities for supporting its teaching and research. The mission of the School is to produce the highest quality of graduates to serve the society, and to conduct leading-edge research.
