School of International Education

The School of International Education was founded in 2002 in order to implement the strategy of opening up schooling, promote international exchanges and cooperation, intensify unified administration of international education and standardize schooling concerning foreigner affairs. The main duties and functions of the School are to provide services for international students studying in China and Chinese students studying abroad. It also provides all the schools and departments of HUST with service in the field of international exchanges.

At present, there are more than 1,600 students in the School, among whom more than 1000 are international students, about 280 students are from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan and about 500 Chinese students are studying abroad. The international students are respectively from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. Most of Chinese students studying abroad have been enrolled by renowned institutions in Europe, America, Australia and etc. for master and doctoral degree.

Being richly experienced in foreign affairs and highly efficient, the staff in the School pay attention to absorbing advanced teaching and administrative experience and commit themselves to provide best service in recruitment, training, management and recommendation for international students and Chinese students studying abroad.

International students are given Chinese language courses and major courses by excellent teachers. Language training such as GRE, IELTS, TOEFL and etc are also offered to Chinese students who intend to study abroad. Meanwhile, Chinese students could directly apply for master and doctoral degree to foreign institutions since we have established cooperative relationship with them. A reliable “green channel”---- Training Service Center for Studying Abroad of HUST, as approved by the Ministry of Education of the P.R. China, is available to those who intend to study abroad.
