Jiang Qian becomes representative of the closing ceremony of “EU-China Year of Youth”


When the list of representatives to attend the closing ceremony of the “EU-China Year of Youth” is publicized, Miss Jiang Qian, a student reporter of Guizhou University journalist group, becomes one of them, who, together with 19 other university students chosen by the Association of the University Media of China (AUMC), will attend the activities of the closing event of th
EU-China Year of Youth” held from 20 to 27, October.

Twenty students from 19 universities are finally selected by AUMC to attend the closing event. Ten of them are talents for international exchange, and the other ten are campus reporters. They will join the 100-people European Youth Delegation from 27 member states of EU to carry out EU-China Year of Youth Leaders Summit activities, other activities include government and corporate visits, youth exchanges and media initiatives, and finally they will go to Tianjin China to attend the closing ceremony of the EU-China Year of Youth.

EU-China Year of Youth, advocated by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, is the first theme year jointly held by China and Europe in 35 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between them, and it is also the biggest humanist exchange activity between China and Europe. The EU-China Year of Youth, organized by both the All-China Youth Federation and EU Commission, hosts the following four types of activities: flagship activity, partnership activity, key point activity, and media publicizing activity, aiming to further enhance the partnership relations of China and Europe, promote the understanding and friendship between youths from both sides, and encourage the youth to care about and support the development of Sino-Europe relations.

Miss Jiang is from Grade 2009, College of Humanities, Guizhou University. She is a member of the fifth journalist group of GZU with excellent performance records, and once worked for the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week.
