The Advisory Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis Held

Advisory Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis was held in IUPUI. Director-General of the two cooperation sides—Charles R.Bantz, President of IUPUI, and YanGuangmei, Vice President of our university, attended the meeting. The board members of our university attended the meeting via video conferencing in South Campus.



The meeting reviewed the work and financial situations of the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis over the past one year, exchanged and shared advices on raising funds for the Confucius Institute, discussed and reached an agreement on the work plan of the Institute for the next year, and also included Professor Zhou Xiaobing, Dean of School of Chinese as a Second Language, as one member of the Chinese board. Vice President Yan Guangmei highly valued the work that the Confucius Institute of Indianapolis have accomplished, and also stated that our university would continue to vigorously support the development of the Confucius Institute.

Opened in November, 2007, the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis, co-established by our university and IUPUI, is one of the five overseas Confucius Institutes that our school has founded with the cooperation of foreign universities. Our university established strategic and cooperative relationship with IUPUI since the opening of this Confucius Institute.
