Scientific Research and Achievements
Over the past 5 years, the research in the School has been supported by various funds, and the total external funds are over 150 million Yuan, which includes projects supported by "973 Programs", and "863 Programs" from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Innovative Research Groups and Excellent Young Scholars, and key projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. More than 150 external projects are in progress at present. Some completed projects have been awarded the National Natural Science Award, and the Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress in Guangdong.

Exchange and Cooperation
Each year, the School sponsors some programs for national and international academic exchanges. Many prominent domestic and overseas experts, such as C. N. Yang, C.C. Ting, C.W. Chu and Y.R. Shen, are invited to be honorary professors and adjunct professors. The School keeps up long-term cooperation with some Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences including Lishi Wen, Zhizhan Xu, Zisen Zhao, Jianquan Yao and Shenggang Liu, etc. In addition, various collaboration programs with universities and institutes in USA, UK, France, German, Canada, Australia, Sweden and Hong Kong are in progress. Celebrated professors from those countries are invited to visit and give lectures in the School every year, and some excellent students are sent there to continue their studies through exchange programs. Recently, the School has joined the international collaboration program for the space experiment "Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS)" led by Prof. C. C. Ting, the 1976 Nobel Laureate in Physics, which has attracted more than 500 scientists from 15 countries and regions.
