School of Engineering

The School of Engineering was established in November 2003, dedicated to the development of high technology and to graduating skilled individuals in the field. In September 2005, Professor Allen T. Chwang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was engaged as the Dean of the School. In order to strengthen the School, the Department of Applied Mechanics and Engineering was merged into the School. At present the School has four major research areas: ocean engineering, energy engineering, traffic engineering and biomedical engineering. The goal of the School is to become a first-class engineering school in China.
