1. Program Overview
This program aims to cultivate excellent teachers who will be competent of
teaching English as a foreign language for secondary and primary schools upon
graduation. The program offers strong English language and cultural courses and
a complete module of English pedagogy with a focus on both the theories and
practices. Students enrolled for this program have best opportunities for
internship and a promising career prospect as we have established partnerships
with more than 150 primary and middle schools within Guangdong Province.
Graduates of the English education major in the past years are thoroughly
accredited by their employers. A large number of them have well established as
backbone English teachers at various secondary schools in Guangdong Province,
whose professionalism and diligence have won recognition and respect.

English Speaking and Listening, Extensive Reading (1-4), Intensive Reading
(1-6), English Writing, British Literature, American Literature, Introduction to
Novice English Teacher Development, Foreign Language Courseware Design, Issues
in English Language Teaching Reforms, Pedagogy, Research Methods in Education, A
Study of English Language Teaching, English Textbook Analysis and Teaching
Design, Foreign Language Education Technology, Corpus and English Language
Teaching.

4. Length of Program
Normally 4 years
1.High school Diploma or above, 2.18 to 55 years old, 3.Healthy foreigners. 4.TOEFL 70(internet based) /190(computer based)/520(paper based) or IELTS 5.5 above for students from non-English-speaking countries (or pass the English language test organized by the College).

Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English. If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.
