The School of Foreign Studies , which has been originated from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature of Guangdong Art and Science College in 1946, was founded in 2000 to meet the growing demand for foreign language teachers, language teacher trainers, and other foreign language professionals. Encompassing a highly qualified and experienced faculty and all kinds of advanced educational facilities, the School of Foreign Studies enjoys a high reputation as a leading institution for teacher-training in the Province and one of the prestigious foreign languages schools in China . In the past sixty years, it has turned out more than 9,600 qualified teachers and language professionals, including 165 MA-degree holders, more than 5,000 BA-degree holders and approximately 4,000 students with diplomas or certificates.
