SCUT Ranked World's No. 4 in Food Science and Technology



SCUT was placed at the worlds No. 4 in food science and technology, along with its other eight subjects entering the global top 100, according to the latest Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) published by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy.

  

The GRAS 2017 was released on June 28, listing rankings of worldwide universities in 52 subjects across natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.

  

SCUT has 19 subjects featured on these rankings, including 9 subjects that were considered as within the global top 100. The best performance was made by food science and technology, which took the 4th seat around the world, with chemical engineering ranked No. 16, and energy science & engineering ranked No. 34.

  

More than 1,400 universities from 80 countries were published in this years final release, while as many as 4,000 universities were considered and ranked. 162 Universities from the mainland China appeared 1,289 times in different subject rankings.

  

The Shanghai Ranking Consultancy is an organization dedicating to research on higher education intelligence and consultation. It is also well known for producing the annual league tables of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). The indicators of the GRAS 2017 included measures of research productivity, research quality, extent of international collaboration, research with top quality, and the highest academic recognitions for each university.
