S.E. Thomas Boni YAYI, President of Benin Visited DMU and was Engaged as Visiting Professor


President Wang Zuwen and DMU senior officials warmly welcomed S.E. YAYI and his delegation and met the guests in the meeting room. Firstly, on behalf of DMU, President Wang Zuwen extended a warm welcome to the guests. He said that S.E. Thomas Boni YAYI was the first foreign Head of State to visit DMU and DMU was honored to have the President as a visiting professor. Then, he briefly introduced DMU's history and its international cooperation, especially the cooperation with African countries. He also expressed his willingness to strengthen the cooperation with Benin and welcomed more and more students from Benin to study at DMU. 

Jean Claude APITHY, Benin Ambassador to China, explained why he highly recommended the President YAYI to visit DMU. He said that the potential partnership between Benin and DMU in fields of transportation, logistics and port management would contribute to the development of Benin.

S.E. Thomas Boni YAYI said it was an honor to visit DMU and he thanked DMU for the grand and warm welcome. He expressed his strong intentions to pursue cooperation with DMU and wished the two parties could exchange information and cooperate closely to promote the development of Benin’s port construction in the future. S.E. YAYI also hoped that DMU would nurture and train more students and government officials from Benin.
