The Award Ceremony of Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Scholarships and Grants was Held
 
On the afternoon of November 23th, a delegation from NYK which headed by Mr. Keizo Nagai, the Chief Representative of NYK in China visited us and attended the 2010-2011 award ceremony of NYK scholarships and grants to DMU students.
 
Prof. Wang Zuwen, President of DMU warmly welcomed the guests and briefly introduced the cooperation history between NYK and DMU. He also talked about the  university-level commendation event which was held on 20th November, saying that plenty of companies attended this event to award all kinds of scholarships and honors to DMU students. Meanwhile, he informed the guests that our training vessel "Yu Kun" planned to visit Japan next year. Finally, he expressed sincere thanks to NYK for its support over the decades.
 
Mr. Keizo Nagai, Chief Representative of NYK in China, expressed sincere thanks to DMU for the warm reception and hoped the DMU training vessel could visit NYK’s headquarter in 2012 during its visit. The two sides also had a deep discussion on matters of cruise management.
 
After the conference, Prof. Wang together with Mr. Keizo Nagai attended the NYK award ceremony.
 
Prof. Wang delivered an address in the ceremony. He congratulated the awardees of the NYK scholarships and grants and expressed sincere thanks to NYK for its continuous support to DMU even in the context of economic recession. Prof. Wang encouraged the students to be modest, diligent and make due contributions to the society in the future.
 
Mr. Keizo Nagai thanked Chinese government for its unconditional assistance to Japan during the earthquake and then briefly introduced the history of NYK. He said that NYK was a company with high social responsibility and NYK played an active role in all kinds of activities of environmental protection and public donations. He hoped DMU will be prosperous in the years ahead.
 
After the award ceremony, NYK delegates held an interactive talk with the students.
