Study in Wenzhou

1.  Yandang Mountain

The Yandang Mountainis reputed as the famous mountain in the sea. With the total area of 450 square kilometers, it is located in the northeast of Leqing City in Wenzhou. It is one of the first groups of national important scenic spots in China, and is considered as one of the ten most famous mountains in China. The mountain was explored during South and North Dynasty and flourished during Tang and Song Dynasty and hence it is rich in culture. The Yandang Mountain is known as the number one mountain in southeast China.

Transportation: take the air-conditioned sightseeing bus at the New South Bus Station which opposite to the Wenzhou Train Station

2. The Nanxi River Scenic Area

The Nanxi River Scenic Areawhich is 26 km away from Wenzhou, is located in Yongjia County. It is a scenic area with national- level importance and known as the ‘First River Under Heaven‘.  

Nanxi River of about 145 km that winds and flows amidst lush greenery features typical beauty of a valley.Many rare tree species protected by the government can be found here, such as the Fagus Hayatae, the Gingko and the Pterocarya Stenoptera.

Transportation: Take bus No. 33 from Wenzhou Train Station to Anlanting Port, then take boat to Oubei. From Oubei, take minibus to Yantou County.

3. The Jiangxinyu Island 

The Jiangxinyu Island is on the middle reaches of Ou River in the north of Wenzhou. It stretches from east to west, and is a narrow strip of land with a total area of about 70000 square kilometers.  It is one of the four famous islands in China. 

The beautiful scenery, the abundant historical interests and man-made landscaping make the island a bright pearl on the Ou River. Many famous Chinese poets who had been to this island had left back their poems like Li Bai, Du Fu, Lu You, Wen Tianxiang and so on., The main constructions on the island include a temple called Jiangxin Temple and two pagodas called East Pagoda and West Pagoda. The night scene of this island developed  by using illumination and other techniques made the island, a fairyland on earth.

4.  Brief information on Baizhangji and Feiyun Lake

The Baizhangji and Feiyun Lake scenic area is located in Wencheng County, which is on the upper middle reaches of Feiyun River in the southwest of Wenzhou.  The scenic area is a combination of a man-made landscape and natural scenery. It has the national level important scenic zones like National Forest Park named Tongling Mountain, important heritage site under state protection named Liu Ji Temple, and national eco-demonstration region.The Baizhai Waterfall that falls from 207 meters is the highest waterfall in China.

Transportation: Take bus from Wenzhou New South Bus Station to Wencheng County, then connect another bus from the old Bus Station in Wencheng to the scenic area.

5. Wuyanling Natural Reserve 

The reserve is called as the Natural Gene Base of Biologic Species and the Green Eco-museum. More than 50 kinds of animals are protected in this reserve includingthe Tragopan Caboti, an endangered species. The subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest in the reserve is the best-kept one in the east China. Furthermore, the highest peak in Wenzhou, Baiyujian Peak is also located in this reserve.
