“TO BE DEPRESSED IS TO BE LONELY; TO HAVE A FRIEND IS TO BE HAPPY”

“Give others freedom to be themselves. Appreciate the differences between their ways and yours.”

We are both from Ghana but we met here in China. Knowing each other for the first time in the office of Educhinalink, we already know that we are going to be good fellows. The one at the left is yours truly, Sosu and this handsome one beside me is Tigs. After our five days stay in the fur city, Qingdao, we finally got the chance to our university in Weifang. After settling down with all the things that need to be settled in our dormitory, we decided to wander in town. And we ended up here in this corner of the furniture shop for this fellow was fascinated with these small and artistic figurines at the back.

"Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."

Everyone has their study abroad experience: their life-clarifying adventure that, to them, represents a turning point in their understanding of the world, like these three good friends of mine. They are all from Ghana who decided to study abroad because they believed and I believed too that it will help you understand who you are as an individual, as a Ghanaian or whoever you are, and as a part of the world. They said that, it is more comfortable with risk than many people. And understanding that there are multiple cultures, even within family groups, and that they must be recognized and respected it for they are going to stay in another country.  These three good fellows enjoying meeting new friends, and building a better relationship for their newly found friends for they believe that Friendship is the golden ribbon that ties the world together and sharing life experiences with others can strengthen relationships. You can speak more articulately when needed, and more simply when needed.

"A friend is a gift you give yourself."

Wear a smile and have friends; wear a scowl and have wrinkles. What do we live for if not to make the world less difficult for each other? Yes, it is right to always smile whatever trouble you are into. Even if I am missing a lot my family back home, I am always looking at the bright side of the world. Studying abroad is a lifetime experience for me, and this is my first time journey in China and I was faced with a mixture of emotions from fear and anxiety about what I was about to discover here in China. But because of the presence of good friends and kind Chinese people, I know that my stay in China will be memorable!

"The making of friends, who are real friends, is the best token we have of a man's success in life."

Staying and studying in China is one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It exposed me to a whole new world that I had previously only been able to imagine and provided me with opportunities to try countless new things; Being a starter in learning Chinese is really tough and need a lot of patience and I am learning all sorts of words essential for navigating the cities and then to actually go out on the street and use what we had just been taught! I believe that in order to really understand and experience a culture, you have to be able to interact with locals and try things out of a classroom setting. I took full advantage of this ability.
